What is a credit?

A credit is the unit we use for making your book. Writing text, drawing an illustration, making a cover and translating each cost a number of credits. So you pay for what you actually have made, not for what you don't use.

How many credits does one book really cost?

A 12-page book costs around 165 credits if you approve everything first time, and 200 to 250 credits if you have a few pages redrawn. The pricing page has a calculator where you fill in your own page count.

What does an illustration, a cover or an extra language cost?

Illustrations are the most expensive part, a cover costs a little more than a regular page, and an extra language edition mostly costs text credits because the illustrations are reused. The calculator on the pricing page shows the amount for your book before you start.

What happens to credits I don't use?

They stay on your account and you can use them later. Credits from a separate credit pack do not expire as long as your account exists.

What happens to my books if I cancel my subscription?

Your books stay on your shelf and the PDFs you downloaded remain yours. You keep access until the end of the paid period; after that you can't have new pages made until you have credits or a subscription again.

Do I get a real printed book or only a PDF?

Both are possible. You always make a digital book you can read, share and download. If you also want it on paper, you order a printed copy that arrives bound at your door.

How many pages does a book have?

You choose the page count yourself. The free trial goes up to 6 pages; after that, books of 12 to 24 pages are the most common. Every format has a minimum and maximum, listed with the formats.

Which formats are available?

We work with A4, A5 and a square format, in hardcover or softcover. As soon as the final formats and prices are confirmed with our print partner, they appear on the print page.

Is the print-ready PDF mine?

Yes. You may keep the file, store it and have it printed yourself. If you want to sell the book you need a commercial licence; see the terms.

Does my book stay on my shelf?

Yes. Your books, versions and language editions stay on your shelf as long as your account exists, even if you pause for a while.

What if the illustrations aren't right?

Then have them redrawn before you approve. You can request a new illustration per page, adjust the description and change the style. This is the moment to be critical.

Can I edit the text myself?

Yes. You can edit every page: rewrite the text, change its placement and size, and restore the original text.

Will my character keep looking the same?

That's what the system is built for: we record how your character and world look and use that description for every illustration. If a page still differs, have that page redrawn.

Can I have one page redone, and what does it cost?

Yes, page by page, and it costs the same credits as the first time. The calculator on the pricing page lets you include a number of redraws.

Can I still change the book after approving it?

Before printing, everything can still change: any edit clears the print-proof approval and you simply approve again. Once printing has been ordered, the file goes to the printer and that order can no longer be changed.

Do I see the whole book before I pay?

Yes. You page through your complete book before checkout. That version carries a watermark, but it is complete: same text, same illustrations, same cover.

Do I approve the proof before you print?

Yes. Before printing you see exactly what goes to the printer: the cover including the spine, the format, the binding and the interior in print quality. Nothing is printed until you approve it.

Do I have a right of withdrawal on my book?

No. Your book is made from your input and printed specifically for you, so it falls under the exception for personalised products. That's why all the control sits before that moment: you see the whole book before you pay, and you approve the proof before we print. More in the terms.

What if the book arrives damaged or different?

Then that's our mistake and we reprint. Send a photo within 14 days and we make a new copy. If generation fails or the file is unusable, we also remake it or refund you.

May I sell this book?

Not with a personal licence: that book is for you, your family and gifts. To sell, you need the commercial licence. The free trial allows neither selling nor printing.

Who owns the story?

You do. Your input stays your input and you may use the result within your licence. We never make your book public unless you switch that on.

Is my input used to train AI models?

No. We use your stories, photos and names to make your book, not to train models. What we store and for how long is in the privacy policy.

May I use an existing character or brand?

No. Well-known characters, brands and logos are protected, so we don't recreate them. A character of your own that resembles you or your child is fine.

What is the difference between the personal and commercial licence?

Personal: read, print, give away and share within your own circle. Commercial: selling the book or using it in business. The exact limits are in the terms.

Do you store children's names?

Only what you put in your story, and only to make that book. You can always change or leave out a name; a made-up name works just as well.

Yes. Stories match the age you choose, there are no ads and no chat with strangers, and a book stays private until you share it. In a school environment pupils work without their own e-mail address.

What happens if I delete my account?

Who can see my book?

Only you, until you choose otherwise. If you share a reading link or make the book public, anyone with that link can read it. You can switch that off at any time.

Can I get the same book in two languages?

Yes. You create a language edition of an existing book: the illustrations stay the same and the text is translated. Both editions sit side by side on your shelf.
